Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Practicing for Baby

We had some of my friends from college come to visit this weekend.  They have an almost 3 year old boy and a 3 month old baby girl.  It was so fun to see them.  Christian had a built in playmate (which was great for the adults), but also got a chance to see and hold a real baby.  I was curious to see how he would handle the interaction, and was not shocked to find out that he LOVES babies.  If his response to this baby was any indicator, our baby will be overly loved, overly adored, and overly mobbed by Christian all the time.  I was happy to see this response, considering the alternatives, but we will have to be careful to give the poor baby some space from his extremely friendly brother :)

The experience was also really good for Jonathon and me.  We babysat all three kids one night and were shocked to find out that we didn't really remember what it was like with a small baby. I'm sure it will all come back quickly, but it made us realize those first few months really were just a haze.  Anyway, the week left us excited for "little brother" to come in January.

Sarah! That is good news indeed. Christian will probably love the new baby so much he will maul it. That is what we are afraid of with Ethan. He has a little 6 mo old friend whom he likes to hug and kiss a little too much. Funny. Anyway, exciting. Scary too, don't you think?
