Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Gettysburg Trip

My mom came this week and watched Christian for us overnight so that we could escape the city for a few days.  We took the train to Philadelphia, saw the sights there, and then drove to Gettysburg.  We stayed at a bed and breakfast on the battlefield and toured the whole area.  On the way home, we stopped in Hershey, PA for some chocolatey goodness.  It was such a great trip (Thanks Mom!).  Here are some pictures of our adventures:

Independence Hall

They have Independence Hall set up like it was when they signed the Declaration of Independence.  We took a fun guided tour.

Liberty Bell

Eating a Philly Cheesesteak in Philly

The cool Bed and Breakfast where we stayed...It is located right in the middle of where the fighting occurred on the first day.  Now, there are lots of statues and memorials in the area.

Jonathon got to drive a Prius on our trip.  He spent way too much time checking out all the cool gadgets and watching the bar graph of our gas mileage (52.1 miles per gallon by the end).

Gettysburg Visitor's Center

Sarah waving while on the chocolate ride (much like "It's a small World", it tours the factory and teaches about chocolate making...oh and it comes with free samples)
