Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Mexico Cruise: Day 2-- Cabo San Lucas

We arrived in Cabo San Lucas at around 11 AM.  Cabo is a tendering port, which means that the ship cannot dock and instead smaller boats ferry the passengers to shore. It was a lovely ride! I thought Cabo San Lucas was a beautiful city. It was colorful and quaint, and so picturesque.

Cabo San Lucas is unique because it is at the very tip of the Baja peninsula. It is where The Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez. El Arco is the famous landmark that separates the two. We knew that since the area was so unique, we wanted to try some snorkeling in the area.

When we got to shore, we walked down the main street until we found someone who was offering snorkeling excursions. We spoke with her, and she offered us snorkeling gear and a boat for $10 per person. Seeing as how the cruise was offering the same shore excursions for $60 each, we felt it was a great deal. The boat took us out to see El Arco and the sea lion colony, and then dropped us off for our snorkeling. We jumped off the boat and swam along the shore. There were tons of fish, and it was fun to see them so close up. It was quite windy, and the ocean was a bit rough. I was a bit nervous being in open water, but we made it back to the beach safely where the boat picked us up.

After we got back, we asked the lady to show us where to find great, authentic Mexican food. She pointed us behind some shops to a "restaurant" surrounded by food trailers. They set up some extra card tables and we had chips and salsa, and then ordered some delicious tacos and burritos.

After lunch, we walked around the town for a bit. We searched for souvenirs and explored the shops. We had a lovely afternoon and then boarded the tender boat back to the ship. We got to see the sunset over Cabo as we boarded the ship. Of all the cities we visited on our cruise, Cabo was my favorite.
