6:00 Time to Eat Dinner
We had pizza, salad, and nachos. Yum!
6:45 Time for the Year in Review
Everyone filled out a fun paper talking about some of the things that happened in 2015 and some of the goals that they wanted to accomplish in 2016. When everyone was done, we went around and everyone told their favorite memory of 2015. It was fun to hear what everyone said.
Sarah: Eating clam chowder on the wharf in Monterey
Jonathon: New Job, Going to the temple with the whole family, BSU vs BYU football game
Christian: Making cardboard projects in the garage with all his new friends
Andrew: New friends
7:00 Time for Group Games
We played the candy bar game where you sit in a circle and roll a pair of dice. If you roll a 7 or doubles, you get to choose a candy bar from the center. After all the candy bars are gone, you get to steal them from other players. Everyone had a fun time with it and got to keep a candy bar at the end.
8:00 Time for Best of Studio C
I put together a YouTube list of some of the best Studio C skits, and we watched them on our TV. I love clean comedy that the whole family can watch together. There was much laughter! Some of my personal favorites are: Facebook Friends Song, The Avengers Song, International Relations, Whole Foods "Naturally," Scott Sterling, and Harry Potter parodies.
8:30 Time for Dessert
We had ice cream and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies for dessert.
9:00 Time for Board Games
We split up and played a couple of different games. One group played Andrew's new game, Labyrinth, and one group played Settlers of Catan.
10:00 Time for New Year's Countdown
We celebrated New Year's with NYC so the kids could go to bed at a decent hour. We were trying to finish our game, so when we finally turned the TV on, the countdown was already at 3, 2, 1! We just barely made it in time. We all blew our noisemakers, yelled "Happy New Year" and celebrated. I sure love all of these people, and was so glad we had lots of family to celebrate with. I am looking forward to a wonderful 2016!
