Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Cameron and Christa

Jonathon's brother, Cameron, got married on December 20th in New Mexico. Cameron married Christa Collette. We have had the opportunity to meet and interact with Christa on several occasions, and we are so happy that they found each other. One of Cameron and Chantel's friends (Hannah S.) was good friends with Christa, so Hannah was able to introduce them. They dated for several months, and got engaged around October.

Christa is from New Mexico, so they chose to be sealed in the Albuquerque temple. It was such a difficult decision to figure out who in our family would be able to go. I really wanted to take the whole family, but it just didn't work out. We couldn't afford to fly everybody, and it would have been a nightmare to try to drive there and back (10 hours each way) in three days. We would then have to turn around and drive to Idaho the next day. For our sanity and the kids happiness, we decided that we would just send Jonathon. He rode down with his parents on Friday and then was able to fly back on Sunday. It worked out pretty well, but I was sad to miss the special occasion.

Jonathon knew how much I wanted to be there, so he made a great effort to take pictures and text them to me of all the activities. On Friday night, the whole family got together for a last hurrah before Cameron got married. They went out to eat Greek food and then raced go-carts. Then Saturday was the big day. The sealing was at 11:30 am followed by a luncheon and the reception later that night.

Everything went off without a hitch. They are both from families of nine children, so the wedding party was huge. I loved seeing the pictures. What a wonderful thing to have so many siblings and family members be at the temple to celebrate such a sacred event! Jonathon returned home Sunday morning just in time to pack for our Christmas vacation. It was a quick trip, but what a wonderful reason to make the effort to attend. We are thrilled for them, and hope that they have so much happiness together.
