Wednesday:
Jonathon took the boys to work with him to run a short experiment while I stayed home and packed with Hyrum. The boys rode the train in with Jonathon, and then helped him extract DNA in the lab. They had a fabulous time and still talk about it often.

Then we headed down to Provo for a few days. That night, Grandpa and Grandma H. took the boys to see "How to Train your Dragon 2" at the theater. While they were gone, we made pies for Thanksgiving. Mom H. has an amazing 5 minute pie crust. She whipped up all of the dough and then I rolled them out and made several pies. I don't have tons of pie-making experience, but I think they turned out pretty good.
Thursday (Thanksgiving):
Then we headed back home to finish up the Thanksgiving dinner. Mom H. is awesome in the kitchen, and everyone chipped in, so it all came off without too much stress. Everything was beyond delicious! There was so much food that I didn't even get to taste all of it. After everyone had their fill, we took naps and played lots of games.
Friday:
During Thanksgiving dinner, Christian said he didn't feel very good. We figured he had just eaten too much. He stopped eating and took a rest. He seemed fine, but that night started feeling bad again. By morning, he was throwing up and miserable. It was so sad to see him so sick during vacation. He handled it really well though. He stayed in the room the whole day so that he didn't get everyone else in the house sick. He watched movies and slept a lot.
While Christian was sleeping, the other boys were having a blast with Grandma and Grandpa. They took them to University Mall to see Santa fly in on a helicopter. It was quite a fun event. After Santa came, they got free hot chocolate and cake pops. Then they went to the tree farm and picked out an amazing Christmas tree. It is one of the most beautiful trees I have seen, and it fit so perfectly in the house. Grandma H. let Andrew decorate the tree by himself because Christian was sick. It was a huge deal to Andrew, and he felt so special. It was one of the highlights of his whole Thanksgiving.

Saturday:
Christian was feeling much better by Saturday. Luckily, it was only a 24 hour bug, and he was able to eat a little bit and get up and play. Several people, plus the kids, went to the Rec Center to play basketball. When they were done, we all went to the Nickel City to play laser tag. BJ is pretty much a professional, so he gave us some tips. Jonathon and Christian were decent, Andrew was good for a 5 year old, and I was terrible! But we all had fun. That afternoon was more games, and then back to the Rec Center to go swimming and play racquetball. Grandpa and Grandma took the kids swimming so that Jonathon and I could play racquetball. I haven't played in probably 12 years, but it was a blast playing with Jonathon.
By that time, we were exhausted, sore, and all partied-out. We drove back to our house. It was a fabulous few days, and we LOVED being with family.
