Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Apple Picking

It is a tradition in this part of the country to go apple-picking every Fall. We always thought it was funny because we grew up with apple trees in the backyard. After living in the city for the last two years though, I totally understand why so many people want to get off the island and spend a day in the country. We decided to give it a try... and it was wonderful! Christian had such a great time at the "apple farm" as he called it. It was quaint, beautiful, and oh so yummy! Here are some pictures from the afternoon:

Masker Orchards near Warwick, NY

You can eat all the apples you want while picking, so we tried about 5 different varieties. YUM!

My favorite picture of the whole day. I love these boys!

Our favorite were these Empire apples

Christian ate a whole apple. Notice the juice dripping down his chin... he loved it!

Next Up: Apple pie, Apple crisp, Apple cake, Apple Sauce...

What a fun thing to do! That area looked so beautiful...I bet it was nice to get away from all the noise and hustle/bustle of the big city. You guys are always doing cool things like that. We miss you!
