Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Happy Birthday Christian!

At exactly 7:41 A.M., Christian turned two years old.  We have been explaining about birthdays for the last couple of days, so when we reminded him this morning, he started singing "Happy Birthday" to himself.  Whenever we asked him what he wanted for his birthday, he responded with "Thomas Birthday Cake."  This presented a huge challenge for Mom.  Luckily, with some genius graphics help from Jonathon, we were able to make a cake that actually looked like Thomas.

Christian spent the morning with his best buds from playgroup.  They played at the park, ran through the sprinklers, and then ate cake at our house.  It turned out to be a really fun and relaxed party. Christian was in heaven with all of his new train gear and understood how to blow out the candles this year....well kind of.

Later in the evening, we had a family party when Jonathon was home.  Christian requested pizza for dinner and then we opened a few more presents. The video shows some highlights from the family party.  You will notice a common theme... candy.  We thought it was pretty funny.  The most exciting present was a new bike (complete with removable parent steering-handle).  We will have to try it out at the park tomorrow.

Hellooooo Jonathon and Sarah! It's your long-lost friend Molly from Hollister. :) Our moms conspired and exchanged offspring blog addresses. Gotta love it, right? Christian is so cute! (And I'm talking about your son, not my husband--although he's super cute, too.) Hope you guys are doing well!
