At the beginning of August, Kym got to go with her Mom and sister to Europe for 10 days for free. How lucky is that! She needed a place for her kids to stay because Joe had to work, so Mom and I decided that we would tackle the job together. Mom and Dad came down to our house, and we watched all the kids. Mom was awesome and decided to call it "Cousin Camp." She planned tons of fun activities to do, made meal schedules, and brought fun surprises. All I really needed to do was provide the house and help with the kids. It worked out great!
Every morning we got up, made breakfast, and got all the kiddos dressed. Then we assigned them some little chores. Since there were so many people in the house, we had to clean up lots of messes and take out the trash multiple times. They all helped out though, and it was manageable. Then we headed out for our adventure of the day.
Over the course of the week we:
Went to the splash pad
Rode bikes down Provo Canyon (Beautiful!)
Went bowling
Saw a $ movie
Roasted hot dogs and s'mores
Went to the Pioneer Park in Provo
Got slurpees
and played on the huge water slide Grandma brought
We ended up having so much fun! The kids got along great, and we did a lot of cool things. Even Ruby (1 year old) was awesome! She slept great for us and never had any problems. By the end of the week, we were all exhausted. Mom left Saturday morning, and Joe came to pick up the kids Saturday afternoon. Right after everyone left, Hyrum snuggled up on my lap and immediately fell asleep. He hasn't taken a nap in ages, so I knew he was sure tired. I was glad everything went smoothly, and it was fun to get to spend time with my little nieces and nephews. I love them to pieces!
