Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Amanda and Sam

Amanda and Sam got married on June 16, 2018 in the Provo City Center Temple. It was a special day for them and brought the sibling wedding count for the year up to 3! Ben, Crista, and Amanda all got married this year, and my boys are now officially wedding pros.

Sam is from Rexburg, ID. He is majoring in business and is one smart cookie. He is also super athletic and a bit zany at times... He's perfect for Amanda! It is nice to live close to Jonathon's family because we get to meet all of the potential suitors early on in the relationships. Sam came to Sunday dinners many times, so we felt like we knew him fairly well before they even got engaged.

For Amanda's Bridal Shower, we helped to film a "Newlywed" style game where Amanda had to try to match Sam's answers. I made a video of it and showed it for the shower. It was pretty fun to get to know him even better through that, and I think it turned out pretty great.

Their wedding day was warm and beautiful. Crista and David were kind enough to watch all of the kids (12 total) while we were in the temple. I was worried about overwhelming them since David has a very small family. Crista looked a bit frazzled when we came out, but David actually seemed to have a great time with all of them. They were good sports, and we were grateful that they helped all of us out.

The reception was that night at the church building. We helped set up tables and decorations, and then I spent the night in the kitchen making frappe (my favorite!). At the end of the reception, they did a choreographed dance to "Rewrite the Stars" from The Greatest Showman. Sam is strong and Amanda is little, so they were able to do lots of lifts and fun moves. It was a unique way to end the night.

We love all of the people that our siblings have chosen to marry, and are blessed to be surrounded by so many great people!
