Gordon B. Hinckley said, "My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we accentuate the positive." This year we hope to focus more on the positive blessings in our life. Hopefully, this blog is a source of optimism for us now and in the future.

Sailing and Beach Babies {Spring Break 2015}

Jonathon's big sailing trip was the next day, and we decided that we all wanted to go to Monterey again. Grandpa, Christian, Jonathon, and Hayden ended up going out on the sailboat. It was a really nice morning to go sailing. The water was fairly smooth, and the wind hadn't picked up yet. I thought that Christian would be too scared to go, but he is really growing up. He didn't even act too nervous as they boarded the sailboat named "Pegasus". Andrew and I walked down to the end of the dock to watch them sail away.

When they came back into dock, they had lots of stories to tell. They were quite cold from the ocean wind, but happy they had such a grand adventure.

 After the sailing trip, we got fish and chips at the wharf. They were so much better than the fish and chips you get anywhere else. Then we headed to the beach. It was pretty cold, so we didn't do any actual swimming, but the kids splashed in the waves and dug in the sand. Andrew especially loved the beach. His smile was one of pure enjoyment. He kept going back into the water again and again. Hyrum was adorable. He followed Andrew's example and ran toward the water and then ran back. His red hair was so pretty in the sun against the beautiful ocean colors. Christian was too cold to get in the water much. He obliged me by taking a few pictures, but then he preferred to just watch.
