One Year Old

Hyrum turned one on July 22, 2014. His birthday was a chance to celebrate the joy and miracle that Hyrum has been in our lives. I celebrate daily his sweet personality, his spunk, and his darling smile. I give thanks for the joy and unity he has brought to our family. And I have a soft spot in my heart for his red hair and lovely curls. He completes our family and brings us daily happiness.

Hyrum at ONE:

*Weight: 21 lbs (44%)
*Height: 29 in. (17%) Either we have a shorty, or he hasn't hit his growth spurt yet
*Head: 18 1/4 in. (57%)
*Loves Bananas, but doesn't like meat of any kind
*Crawls super fast, but shows no interest in walking by himself
*Stands alone and walks holding on to things
*Loves exploring new places
*Heads straight for the bathroom (to play in the toilet) whenever the door is open
*Still on hypoallergenic formula for a milk allergy... ugh! (We thought his eczema had cleared up, but it came back about a week after we tried him on cow's milk again.)
*Crawls up the stairs with ease, but get too distracted and can't come down them safely yet
*Eats everything in sight (mostly non-food... more than any other baby I have seen)
*Is a Daddy's boy, but will accept Mom if Dad's not around
*Babbles constantly, but only has one real word... Dada
*Still goes to almost anybody with no stranger danger anxiety... yet
*Can not make it through one church meeting without having to go to the hall for being too rowdy
*Has 10 teeth, including two molars that popped through in the last few weeks
*Bites a lot :(
*Slept through the night from 2-4 months, but not again until 12 months
*Has the chubbiest cheeks, ever!
*Besides Dad, his favorite person in the whole world is Grandpa C. He only has to hear his voice and will come "running."
*Takes two 1- 1.5 hour naps each day
*Loves being outside
*Great traveler
*Needs a haircut, but I just can't do it yet
